THE TIMES, MARCH 8, 2018 PAGE 4 FROM PAGE THREE home streets, joined by her sister-in-law Queen Lan- dis Niernberger McMahon, while a new generation of Times photographers represented by Felicity McMahon, 8, handled the news cameras. There were plenty of returning queens to be photo- graphed. The Queens of Erin hold their titles for life. Longtime Strawberry Festival photographer Craig Williams died this past year and is sorely missed, espe- cially at festival time and particular when it comes to photos at the Ball and when the visiting royals descend on us in a cloudy waft of tulle with sequins for stars. Craig and his camera backstopped the Times crew many-a-time. He will be missed. If life is getting a bit harried, I have two cures from which you may choose, and two (as Stanley Cowen would have put it), super gentlemen Hans Winkler and Bryan Poche. Should your favorite daughter insist on giving herself in marriage to some extremely lucky man, I advise you to let Hans Winkler handle all the arrangements for the wedding reception at his most-excellent Le Fleur de Lis Reception Hall & Catering in the first block of North Sixth Street. The Krewe of Erin hosted its post-St. Patrick's Pa- rade ceili there this year and everyone was impressed. Winkler has completely refurbished the events hall, making it too elegant to host an English royal wedding. Now you hard-workers deserve a treat and you know this is true, morn or dad, or both of you, so my advice is to try this: Get on the list of satisfied customers who get treated once a week to the cooking genius of Ponchatou- la's own Bryan Poche, owner of Fine Thyme Catering (985-969-4925). I do not know that his service extends to our readers in Independence, but give Bryan Poche a call and find out (We may trigger an expansion). Bryan's menu is fixed for the particular week but does change week-to-week. And the home-delivered meals are both delicious and reasonably priced. The publisher is blessed with a reminder of his young- est daughter's love every week when Fine Thyme Cater- ing brings by dinner to his Ponchatoula home, having been ordered by Deirdre McMahon Sanchez from her current home in Kuwait. That, Gentle Reader, is the world in which we now live. Perrin Pandas Perrin ELC held its February Pandarific Program for students with excellent behavior at school. The administrators presented these well-deserving students with lots of goodies. They received a certificate for a free kid's meal from Raising Canes, and a trip to the treasure chest.
