March 30 Ponchatonla Roller Rink presents The
Easter Brunchl0:30am - 12:30pm 22024 Hwy 22, Pon-
chatoula the Ponchatoula Roller Rink is going to have
there lsi; Easter Brunch. Ticket Price is $9.50 per child
but this includes one adult.Bring your own camera or
phone for photos. Thickets purchased @ 22024 Hwy
22 Ponchatoula. 985-370-2560. Come visit the Easter
bunny, grab some breakfast, decorate an egg and skate
too. Only 80 tickets will be sold for this event so pre-
purchase.

Ponchatoula Softball went 2-1 last week
to make the record 12-6 for the season.

Stars and stripes
The Senior Crime Prevention Expo was held
this past Thursday at the Ponchatoula Commu-
nity Center honoring our local military veterans
and first responders. The event was well attend-
ed and was hosted by Tangipahoa Parish Triad,
S.A.L.T. (Seniors and lawmen together) and was
sponsored by Tangipahoa SheriffDaniel Edwards,
TPSO and many volunteers, with donations by
over 18 local organizations, vendors, and numer-
ous exhibitors. Keeping Ponchatoula patriotic,
the Ponchatoula JR. R.O.T.C. was in attendance
to present the colors and all branches of the mili-
tary were separately honored.

March 31 Easter Extravaganza 9am- 1 lam at Park,
Ponchatoula, la. Bring the kids and the whole family
to spend the day with the Easter Bunny at the EAS-
TER EXTRAVAGANZA. Saturday March 31, 2018, the
First Baptist Church of Ponchatoula will have a Bounce
House, live music and Easter stories for the kids. There
will also be an Easter Egg Hunt that starts at 9:30, face
painting and a petting zoo. This is a free event open to
ages birth to 12 years old.
March 31- Classic Car Cruise Night, 5pm - 9pm P0n-
chatoula Walmart-1331 Hwy 51 North, Ponchateula,
La. Start our weekends off right. Come on out and view
your favorite Classic Cars. This event will be held the
last Saturday night of months March thru October. Lo-
cation directions: From 1-55 (exit 26) La 22 E, then left
onto Hwy 51 N 1/2 mile on the right

Parishes Arena. Activities will include kids' activities,
plant sales, educational exhibits and presentations, a
plant swap-bring a plant, get a plant, a center for plant
diagnostics and recommendations, as well as a variety
of commercial vendors and food concessions. Admission
is $5.00 per vehicle-from a bicycle to a bus. Bring your
friends and the kids to an afternoon of all things plants
and fun.
Honoring our military veterans
and first responders
Local dignitaries came together with first re-
sponders, business leaders, professionals, volun-
teers, hospital representatives, along with other
numerous agencies to protect the welfare of our
seniors. The community came out in full force to
promote senior safety and awareness this last
Thursday at the Ponchatoula Community Cen-

Garden of the Month
Gardenettes March Garden of the Month was
awa a'ed to Molly, Jeff and Caroline Bordelon
Weldon Circle, Ponchatoula. Presenting the award
were Gardenette President Anna Poland, Sonya
Avery, Pat Walsh, Sonya Avery, Ellen Pusey and
Jane O'Flynn. Their landscaping included palm
trees, azaleas, daylillies, crepe myrtle, Loropeta.
lum, ginger, yellow Iris, knock-out roses, among
others. Gardenettes are members of District VI:
