Tangipahoa Parish will raise money through

Ecommunity for walking laps around a track.
During the event, participants, employees,
§volunteers, and numerous others will wear a

Taco about a party!
The fun and friendly staff of La Carreta located in
downtown Ponchatoula at 147 NW Railroad Avenue,
was ready this past Sunday to get The Cinco De Mayo
block party started. Saul Rubio, owner and proprietor
of many successful Mexican restaurants in southeast
Louisiana, under the La Carreta and other brands host-
ed numerous Cinco De Mayo block parties to celebrate
the anniversary of the Mexican Army's victory over the
French Empire. Many of the La Carreta restaurants of-
fered an all weekend family-friendly fiesta, with most
locations offering a block party with live entertainment,
face painting, inflatable’s, fun and of course, delicious
traditional Mexican cuisine and libations that included

Patrick McMahon on Sunday afternoon joined
thousands of his Catholic second grade peers in
churches all over Louisiana in receiving his First
Holy Communion. The son of former Times Editor
Brendan Byard McMahon and Landis McMahon
had a speaking role in the Mass. He was joined
by his aunt, Mrs. Deirdre McMahon Sanchez‘of
Houston and by her children, his cousins Anna
Maria and Lucas Sanchez, by his sisters Felicity
and Clare McMahon, and by his grandfather Bry—
an T. McMahon, and a friend Le Lowry who pre—
sented the young guests with gift rosaries blessed
by St. Joseph Catholic Church Pastor Rev. Paul
