HOMEMADE PIES For,0000y Occasion CALL 34S-TS00S circus tradition at Beau Rivage "Saltoriya," the new summer production at Beau Rivage Re- sort & Casino, has a way of pull- ing its audience into a world of whimsy and daring. Sometimes literally. The show is the latest fruit of a long-running partnership between the casino and Dream- Cast entertainment. Featuring a mix of aerialists, comedy and music, among other acts, it will run through August 17, with ticket prices starting at $12.95. "Saltoriya" has little in the way of a storyline, but it has no shortage of "wow" moments. Its cast of about 40 performers, drawn from five countries, per- form any number of jaw-drop- ping feats. Highlights include a quartet who mix the strength and precision of hand balancing with the grace of dance; dream- like interludes in which bizarre creatures and a dancing Slinky- bodied figure stalk the stage; a two-man balancing act with a habit of taking things to the next level; and a trio of motor- cyclists who bring a true dare- devil aspect to the show. While there's no narrative to speak of, there are interludes featuring recurring characters, and chief among these is the comedian Armen, who makes a specialty of dragging audience members out of their comfort zones and into the spotlight.
