• Rockefeller's
FROM PAGE 1
It was obviously the Wong
influence that will "bring Chi-
nese wok-style meals made-to-
order to the new Rockefeller's.
Rubio has a love for sushi that
is shared by many in the area,
fueled in part by Wong's restau-
rant on Cate Street.
New at the restaurant will
be a mezzanine deck overlook-
ing the Atrium Room located at
the rear of the restaurant which
will be enhanced for banquets
and weddings, to be used as a
raised dais. Saul Rubio says to
look for special events on Fri-
day nights in the Atrium.
He also promised to bring his
popular Cinco de Mayo celebra-
tion to Ponchatoula, and plans
something very special for
Strawberry Festival.
Getting a makeover will be
the private 60-person dining
room on the second floor.
And Rubio stressed that the
new Rockefellers will be con-
structed and renovated with
materials purchased locally.
"We will be buying, not from
Lowes, but from Gabriels, and
that will be our philosophy in
all that we do."
He said it is his greatest wish
that Rockefeller's will increase
business traffic for the benefit
of Ponchatoula and its existing
businesses.
