Our Sienna LE had the 2.7
liter 4-cylinder engine. Now,
minivans are not known for
their aerodynamic prowess,
nor do their manufacturers
claim it for them. So, I was
fully prepared to anticipate
and forgive a little sluggish-
ness chugging up the 1-55 on
ramp heading south to New
Orleans. No forgiveness
needed here, impressive ac-
celeration and a really tight
sport-like suspension made
for a pleasant, comfortable
ride.
Likewise, I was skeptical
upon reading that a tow-
ing package is offered even
in the 2.7 liter model. Af-
ter getting to know the Si-
enna LE, I even think tow-
ing would not be a problem
with this motor, although,
a V6 cylinder engine is also
available in other packages.
The 2011 Sienna has not
yet been rated by the Gov-
ernment for safety, but
the 2010 version scored no
less than 4 out of 5 in all
aspects: front impact, side
impact and reliever. It net-
ted an impressive 5 out of 5
rating rear passenger side
impact. It seems it would
be safe to say that with the
addition of a driver's knee
air bag, the 2011 rating will
certainly keep up the Toy-
ota safety standard. They
are certainly going to set
the bar in another area of
customer care.
