She was born on Monday, December 10, 1917, in Timberton, Louisiana, now known as Paulina, to the late Alcidie Rome Bourgeois and Livain Bour- geois. Gladys had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula. She attended Mass daily and often led the rosary at morning Mass. She was a long- time member of the Rosary Altar Society. Gladys was a devoted mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She loved the holidays and enjoyed preparing the meals for the large family gather- ings. She also enjoyed watching televised LSU football and baseball games. Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Edgar A. Charbonnet, Sr.; son- in-law, Leroy Pinion; great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Bravata; and nine brothers and sisters. Gladys is survived by one sister, Elaine B. Char- bonnet of Ponchatoula. JAMES OLIVER "JOT" TYCER James Oliver "Jot" Tycer, Sr., 74, Loranger, Lou- isiana, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at North Oaks Medical Center. He was born September 3, 1942, in New Orleans. He was a re- tired boilermaker and served in the United States Marine Corps. Surviving are his daughter, Kellie Tycer Wil- liams; sons, James O. Tycer, Jr. and wife Reba, Shayne Tycer and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren, Simon "Chance" Tycer, Montana Tycer Baham, Joc- elyn Tycer Robinson, Shayna and Laton Tycer, and Paris Williams; great-grandchildren, Alden and Caden Tycer, and Samantha and Londen Baham; sisters, Ethel Tycer Fitzgerald and Mamie Reece; brothers, Hubert Monroe Tycer, Jr. and Samuel Paul Boudreaux; and his little sidekick, Paco. He is preceded in death by his wife, Robelia "Bea" Smith Tycer; and parents, Hubert and Louise Mary Rehm Tycer. Visitation and funeral services were held at Har- ry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 9:00 am until the funeral service began at 11:00 am. in the funeral home chapel. Interment followed in Loranger Community Cemetery. VINCENT A. PISCIOTTA, JR Vincent A. Pisciotta, Jr. passed away quietly on October 1, 2016 after a difficult struggle these last six months. He was born onAugust 11, 1928 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Vincent, Sr. and Rose Pisciot- ta. Mr. Vince is survived by his sister, Mary Ann and 3 sons; Vincent (Michele), Michael (Deana), Terry (Cindy). His 10 grandchildren, Logan, Lau- rie, Zachary, Cara, Brady, Vincent, Quinlan, Rebec- ca, Cody, and Sophia will miss their Paw Paw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vin- cent, Sr. and Rose Pisciotta, his wife of 46 years, Tena Ann Pecararo Pisciotta and his brothers; Ellis and Ralph. Vince served his country as a member of the Army stationed in Germany. He was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii Parish in Tickfaw, LA his entire life. He was honored more than once at the St Joseph's Day meal. Vince, aka Fred, was a man of few words and great loyalty. His life illustrated his be- lief in family, friends, and community. He re- mained involved in the lives of those he loved. Fred enjoyed shrimp- ing and fishing, antique cars, baseball, and play- ing cards with his sons, nephews, and their friends. Watching mar- lin jump and spending time on offshore fish- ing trips was a thrill he loved to share with the other members of the Heads-n-Tails fishing team. Despite battling long standing health issues, Mr. Vince believed in the gift of life. He sim- ply wanted to get home to enjoy his property and some quiet time with his large extended family. A visitation for Vince was held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 6:00pm 9:00pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ham- mond and continued on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 9:00am - 10:00am at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church in Tickfaw.
