Meanwhile, the fabulously delightful basketball great Meghan Berner also celebrated her rehearsal dinner this past weekend. Other than raging love, the big attraction seems to be The Library Room of Randy and Kayla Tomeny's Roux & Brew Seafood and Steak House, called that because the room now attached to the former Ho- tard& Goode Building served as perhaps the parish's first public library. Since then, it has been home to a great ice cream parlor, and most recently, the former Chamber of Commerce office. Next door you will now find a nice patio, as the property con- tinues to be improved. I'll have to check the par- ticulars with Ponchatoula His- torian Jim Perrin, who knows all about such things (love and libraries). Thelma McDermott of Pon- chatoula is getting ready to turn 100 on November 4. I won- der if she'd like to go dancing to celebrate? We could book the library.
