THE TIMES, DECEMBER 4, 2014, S orts John Dudek Playoffs By JOHN DUDEK Times Columnist After what has been a largely dis- appointing season for the New Orleans Saints, they are actually going to still win the NFC South. While they are technically in a tie for first place, the Falcons have the mighty Green Bay Packers next, in Green Bay. That is PAGE 2 - Like us on Facebook pretty much a guaranteed loss. This season feels like a complete failure, and yet the playoffs are almost a given. If you are a division winner, you are auto- matically in the playoffs, and the NFC South is historically bad this season. If the Saints were in almost any other division, they would probably be in last place. The final month of the season, looks extremely promising for the Saints. The defense is coming together at just the right time, and they get a pathetic Panthers team, at home in the dome this Sunday. This is a game, that if the Saints don't win, they need to forfeit the rest of the games on the schedule, and wait until next year. That obviously won't be the case though. I see New Or- leans dominating Carolina, from start to finish, and making life miserable for Carolina quarterback Cam Newton on Sunday. Prediction: New Orleans 41, Carolina 20. I still cannot believe that this un- derachieving team is really going to sneak into the playoffs. In fact, neither can the NFL. There are actually rumors that the league is considering changing the playoff structure, to prevent a team with as bad of a record as the Saints to host a playoff game. Then again, the NFL did change the overtime rules, after the Saints beat Brett Favre and the Vikings on their way to the Super Bowl. And rumors have it that Santa Claus has also been invited. The AOH is an organiza- tion of Catholic men of Irish ancestry who call one another "Brother" and who have devot- ed themselves locally largely to feeding the poor. Their larger mission is to support the Catholic clergy, a practice dating back centuries to Ireland where bounties were placed on Catholic priests iden- tical to those offered for wolves by the English which at the time held sway over all of Ireland. AOH members would hide the priests from those who would do them harm. Today, members of the AOH do good works in their com- munities, while continuing in their mission to support and, when necessary, defend Catho- lic priests.
