LUCY DITTA MIKE
Lucy Ditta Mike, 93, of Hammond passed away Tuesday, Janu-
ary 29, 2013, at her residence.
She was born on Wednes-
day, May 14, 1919, in Napo-
leonville, Louisiana, daugh-
ter of the late Anthony
and Mary Paretta Ditta.
She was a strawberry farm-
er until age 83 and was the
Strawberry Ambassador for
the State of Louisiana under
five governors. She was well
known for her delicious Italian
culinary delights. During her
lifetime she received numer-
ous awards and recognition
for her farming, cooking, and
service to others. Of all things
she gave to others with great
charity and love. In her stan-
dard for perfection she taught
others to strive for the same.
Surviving are her daughter and
son-in-law, Josie M. and Bill
Louviere, adopted daughters
and sons-in-law, Linda Dit-
ta and Jimmy Wiltshire, Judy
and Herbie Lotz, nine grand-
children and their spouses:

Rene Blanchard and Dennis,
Paul Hodges and Zach Janusa,
Will Louviere and ReneW, Mi-
chael Louviere and Tania, Lisa

neral Home in Hammond and
again on Friday, February 1,
2013, at Holy Ghost Catholic
Church followed by a Mass of
Christian Burial with Fr. Rob-
ert Merced, O.P. officiating.
Interment followed in the Rose
Memorial Park Cemetery Ham-
mond, Louisiana.
GLENDA HEBERT PARENT
Glenda Hebert Parent, 75, Ponchatoula, Louisiana,
passed away, Sunday, February 3, 2013, at her residence.
She was born on Saturday, May 1, 1937, in New Orleans, La
daughter of the late Louis Hebert and the late Ruth Hebert.
She was a retired daycare worker. She was a member of St. Paul
Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children,
grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and
watching Saints football.
Surviving are son, Paul Parent Jr. and wife Yancy Parent, son,
Dr. Mark Parent, daughter, Denise Daniel and husband Larry,
daughter, Dawn Westbrook anal husband David, grandchildren,
Amanda Thompson and partner Elizabeth Murray, Megan Cleve-
land, Hazel Cleveland, Robert Louis Parent, Nathan Parent and
Isabella Parent, great-grandchildren, Noah Thompson, Han-
nah Thompson, Tara Daniel, Phillip Murray and Kaylie Murray.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ruth Hebert.
A graveside service was held at Ponchatoula Cemetery on
Wednesday, February 6, 2013 with Pastor Louis Boldt officiating.
Interment followed in the Ponchatoula Cemetery Ponchatoula,
Louisiana.
ANNETTE BRUNO
Annette Bruno, 87, Independence, died at Saturday, February
2, 2013 at her residence. She was born March 13, 1925 in Inde-
pendence. She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Nicholas Joseph Bruno, III and wife,
Darlene, Independence; two granddaughters, Brandie Bruno Lay-
risson and husband, Parker and Jessica Barrilleaux and husband,
Carbett Sr.; two great-grandchildren, Carbett Barrilleaux, Jr. and
Olivia Grace Barrileaux She is preceded in death by her husband,
Nicholas Joseph Bruno, Jr.; parents, Guiseppe and Catherine Di-
Giovanni; two brothers, Paul and Michael DiGiovanni; and a sis-
ter, Olivia Mannina.
Visitation was held at McKneely Funeral Home in Amite, on
Monday, Feb. 4, 2013. Services were conducted by David Whittle.
Interment was in the Colonial Cemetery, Independence.

unteer for the Special Olympics,
as well as an active member in
her Sunday school classes. She
was a current member of Beth-
lehem Baptist Church in Alba-
ny. Cille is locally known for her
2010 publication "Wonderful
Memories of Natalbany."
Cille was blessed with three
sons and daughters-in-law,
Clyde and Cathy Stevens of
Tickfaw, Drew and Peggy Ste-
vens of Franklinton, and Ray"
and Laurie Stevens of Pon-
chatoula.
