toula suffered a 5-6 loss to Lutcher that
aernoon.
On a 2-2 count, Sieve Heben started
off the initial frame with a slam over the
head of Lutcher's first baseman Nathen
Poche. Hebert slid on second for a
double as Asa Faulkner's sacrifice bunt
only put him out at first as Hebert
remained at second.
Heben took third though when Pat
Miller was walked to first Hebert finally
brought in the run when Scott Kupper
booted a single past Lutcher's Daniel
Louque. Miller was next in line to reach
home plate but Jeremy Robinson
struck out picking up Ponchatoula's
third out.
Four innings later. Ponchatoula
scored. The Greenies went through
three scoreless innings but was changed
when Mike Hutches streaked home on
Asa Faulkner's single. However Pon-
chatoula picked up their last two counts
as both Scon Kupper and Jeremy
Robinson struck out consecutively
The Greenies picked up two runs in
the sixth inmng off of Steve Hebert's
double which brought Timmy Beyl in
as Asa Faulkner's single pulled in Mike
Hutches
Lmcher was unable to score in the
seventh nning even though a ground
rule double was mlstaken for a home
run and their bases ere loaded until
Shane Martin was up 'o bat. Asa
Faulkner caught Martin's fiy deep in left
f:eid to put Ponchatoula up to bat for
the last tme unless t was tied
In ;hat seventh inning both Pat Miller
and Coach Marten were put in the
dugout as Ponchatoula had one hit.

runs, Mike Hutches pulled in two as
Steve Hebert. Pat Miller and Timmy
Beyl brought one run each to the
scoreboard.

and Timmy Beyl were the only players
to steal bases as Clem McKay took the
pitcher's mound in the fifth frame to
strike out three barters and walk three
at the same time.
Pal Miller took three bases on walks.
Timmy Beyl look two as Asa Faulkner
and Mike Hutches took one each.

scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers:
"Smilin" Joe McCarthy. who
entertained the racing fans: Jack
Vaughan, an NFL official; and Brett
Wright. an SLU graduate who recently
signed a pro football contract with the
New York Jets.

event.
Ponchatoula junior pitcher and
outfielder Jeremy Robinson raps out
