SOCIETY THE PONCHATOULA TIMES, MAY 30, 1985, PAUl: FOUr BIRTH It's A Boy Mr. & Mrs. Bruce M. Wells, Sr. are proud to announce the birth of their first son, "Mathew William." He was born at Seventh Ward General Hospital on December 9, 1984 at 6:25 a.m. He weighed 6 pounds 2 ounces and was 191/2 inches long. Mrs. Wells is the former Connie D. Hill. Paternal grandparents are Mr. Jack Wells and Ms. Peggy Givens, Maternal grandparents are Mrs. Johnny (Trilby) Soles and Mr. Winford Hill Sr. all of Ponchatoula. Mathew was welcomed home by a step sister and brother Cindy 14 and Bruce Jr. 12. P. H.S. Ponchatoula seniors enjoy speaker, picnic The Ponchatoula Senior Citizens Club held its regular monthly meeting on May 14, 1985 at I0 a.m. The President, Ms. Vivian Meterne opened the meeting, calling on Rev. William Eubanks for the invocation. There were six May birthdays for whom the Happy Birthday song was sung. Minutes of the last meeting were then read and approved. Our guest speaker was Lear Navard. who spoke on Special Olympics. He also showed a very interesting film. He asked for all to help as volunteers who are badly needed. Please report to the Strawberry Stadium. The Senior Citizen's picnic was on May 21st. at Camp Chemeketee. all were invited. Ms. Pearly Jones won the door prize The clock that was raffled off a won by Mr. Melvin Perrin. A two-tiere Ben-Ben dish. _+ nd prize was won b Paul Arvello of Hammond. 3rd pn was Salt & Pepper Set was won Mary Wallace of Ponchatouta. La.
