In the four feet long and over "suit-
case size" category the big winner was
Hose Cartwright, representing Shorty
Rogers' Bonanza Restaurant in Ham-
mond, turning in a winning time of one
minute, three and a half seconds to
complete the straightaway big gator

"Scadace," a much bally-hooed rep-
tile from Alligator Campground that
was the pre-race toast of the Hammond
newspapers, was blown out of the
competition in the first heat of the
suitcase size racers by Kliebert Alligator
and Turtle Farm's entry, which turned
l in a score of one minute, 11 seconds to
capture the second place overall and a
