long battle with Parkinson's disease.
John was born on August 23,
1929, in Ponchatoula, Louisi-
ana, where he lived through
his secondary school years. He
subsequently graduated from
the University of Alabama and
served in the United States Air
Force during the Korean War.
Fannaly spent his profes-
sional career with Royal Dutch
Shell Oil, first in New York, then
a much longer, final tenure in
Houston as a proud, active resi-
dent of Southampton Place. In
the early phases of that career,
John participated in the devel-
opment and implementation of
the initial computerization of
Shell.
He was preceded in death by
his parents John Joseph Fan-
naly Jr. and Josephine Yochim
Fannaly, and his friend and life
companion, Carlos de Cespedes.
He is survived by his sister,
Joyce Fannaly and loving friend
